DROMEC Winch for World’s Largest Flag in Azerbaijan
The COP29 climate summit kicked off Monday in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. For this special event, as well as a prestigious Guinness World Record mention, DROMEC Winches had the honor of supplying the winch to raise a 70-by-35-meter flag.

Flagpole
In the Bay of Baybakou, a specially constructed peninsula hosts one of the tallest flagpoles in the world. A massive flag measuring 70 by 35 meters and weighing 500 kg is lifted by DROMEC’s winch to the top of a nearly 200-meter pole.
Unique Software
From the outset, DROMEC’s team was involved in advising and contributing to the project. In-house programmers developed unique software that not only displays the flag’s position but also records the history of every force and movement applied. Even remotely, DROMEC can monitor the flag’s position. This goes beyond simple control; it’s predictive maintenance. With this unique tool, DROMEC can prevent potential malfunctions before they happen.
