Single wheel Tensioner en 300T Spooler

Egersund Herøy AS is a full-service supplier of trawl equipment, nets, and gear to the maritime and offshore industry. The company operates modern facilities with a large warehouse and deep-water quay in Mjølstadneset, located in the municipality of Herøy, Norway. To handle the spooling of heavy offshore cables, DROMEC has delivered a 300T Spooler and a Single Wheel Tensioner.
Combined System
At the quay in Mjølstadneset, ships arrive from the Norwegian Sea to spool cables on or off. With its striking magenta color, Egersund aims to make a bold statement in the predominantly gray maritime climate. Norway — a rugged country with many islands and harbors — offers enormous potential for DROMEC when it comes to the deployment of winches and winch systems. With pride and enthusiasm, the DROMEC Winches team has worked intensively over the past months on this combined project of a Spooler and a Tensioner.
Spooler and Tensioner
The fully electric 300T Spooler delivers a pulling force of 25T across all layers for reels up to 5 meters in diameter. The system is uniquely user-friendly, allowing a single operator to control the entire process via wireless remote control. Even repositioning the support can be done with the push of a button.
The electric Tensioner is remarkably compact in relation to its pulling capacity. Tensioning cables up to 120 mm in diameter with a pre-tension force of 50T is no issue. Its control system is based on the same foundation as the Spooler, enabling one operator to operate both machines simultaneously in practice.

Cees Drost, CEO of DROMEC:
“With the Egersund team, there was an immediate connection in terms of innovation, development, pragmatism, and reliability. Egersund was eager to transition to fully electric and sustainable solutions — something we at DROMEC are very familiar with. In addition to this machine, Egersund is already successfully operating several other spoolers from DROMEC. For us, this project is a great opportunity to expand in Norway. The Spooler and Tensioner are extremely versatile and will undoubtedly be of great value to many more ports and companies in the future.”
