DROMEC Winches tests winch system with 80-ton braking force
20 different braking characteristics for a wide range of objects to be tested. DROMEC Winches does not shy away from this challenge! An international organization will use the winch for an extremely safe system. A safety system in terms of accuracy, speed, power, complexity, and sensitivity. A great challenge for the engineers at DROMEC Winches!
Sander, control technician:
‘This project was challenging in terms of complexity, especially in the areas of safety and visualization.’
Constant tension software
The winch is used in a testing and evaluation center for various mobile objects. Essentially, it is a pulling or hauling winch with a highly accurate tracking system of the object. The results of the moving object must not be influenced by the operation of the winch. Therefore, DROMEC Winches has developed sensitive constant tension software to track the object.
80-ton braking force
The object is tracked with a variable pulling force of up to 1000 kg and a speed of 480 meters per minute. In case of emergency or uncontrolled movement of the object, the winch immediately grips the object with a variable braking force of up to 80 tons.
Separate spooling machine
The winch system has an electric e-drive with separate brakes. The system can also spool various types of synthetic ropes. The winch system will deliver with a separate spooling machine for winding the synthetic ropes on and off. DROMEC also provides the foundation structure with guide pulleys.
Control software
The control software for this project is a high-end web-based platform with a high level of visual user-friendliness. The winch system is well protected during use with additional safety software using various sensors. A project with a long duration but ingenious end result!
